I have a screw loose.
I'm sure that comes as a surprise to a lot of people, especially those that know me well.
My ER doctor and nurse got quite a chuckle out of the official diagnosis. My nurse was really nice, he told me he was amazed that I still had my leg because his uncle had been diagnosed with a Chondrosarcoma 15-20 years ago and at that time the treatment consisted of amputation. The ER doctor had never seen anything like my leg before so I had to explain the layout of my leg a few times. I don't know if he was amazed or horrified by my knee, I can tell that he was glad that he could just refer me back to Orthopedics so he didn't have to deal with my leg besides the official diagnosis and follow up care instructions.
My follow up care instructions are to take pain medication as needed and no weight bearing, unless my surgeon tells me otherwise. I will see him next Wednesday and I'm pretty sure that we will schedule my surgery at that time (unless, by some miracle, he calls me up before my appointment to schedule the surgery but at this point I doubt that will happen).
